Every year the national Gouldian Finch Recovery Team welcomes volunteer enthusiasts to help count wild Gouldian Finches in the Yinberrie Hills, about 45km north of Katherine in the Northern Territory. 

All you have to do is pay your way there, bringing with you a tent, sleeping bag and swimmers. During the week of Gouldian watching you stay in the Nitmiluk National Park where camping sites are provided at the Ranger Station.
